Rollo Regains Championship Focus
LEWIS Rollo headed south to regain momentum this past weekend at the Brands Hatch GP circuit in Kent.
This is another circuit the Scottish teenager had never raced on, and was eager to get to grips with the historic circuit.
Lewis used the early sessions getting used to the longer track and trying to find a setting that would suit his physical racing style.
After finishing mid pack in the first free practice and qualifying one sessions, Lewis felt strong in qualifying two as he made leaps in dropping his lap times. However, just as Rollo started finding his stride another rider fell spilling oil which Lewis could not avoid spitting him off of his Kawasaki.
“So I managed to finish ninth in the race.” Added Lewis “It was a difficult weekend after crashing on another riders’ oil in Q2 and missing valuable track time. I also missed morning warm up when the bike was only running on three cylinders, again, missing track time. On a positive note I’m only 5 points away from third in the championship. Thanks to my Dad and Sean for getting the bike running after we thought we would not make the start. Also thanks to Prentice coaches, Braw Beard Oils, MSS Performance, Shirlaws Motorcycles and everybody else that has helped and continues to help me make the grid every race meeting.”
