Round Two for Rollo
LEWIS Rollo took to the track again this weekend aboard the MSS Colchester Kawasaki ZX10RR.
The young Scot had been eager to climb aboard his Kawasaki ZX10rr after experiencing its potential at the previous meeting.
Lewis got down to business early in the weekend getting used to the extra power at the short bumpy circuit. Working hard with the MSS Colchester Kawasaki team, Lewis stayed consistently in the 47s lap times throughout practice and qualifying. The teenager finished up qualifying in 22nd 0.832s from pole.
At the end of a spectacular two part race one, 17-year-old Lewis fought hard for 24th. Dropping his lap time to 46.9 during the race secured him 14th on the grid for race two.
Race two, once again, provided thrilling entertainment for the spectators. Lewis stuck with the front group for the opening laps, slipping slightly to finish 18th.
“Finished race one in a place I don’t want to talk about after a 150mph head shake going towards paddock” Said Lewis “On the plus side I secured 14th on the grid for race two and even managed to get into the 46s. I was a gutted as I was up to 13th! I’d like to thank my sponsors MSS Performance, Colchester Kawasaki, Braw Beard Oils, Prentice Coaches, McIntosh Mini Bikes, Vroom Media, Santa Cruz Kustom Club, Robert Burns Ltd, Norman Brunton Race Paints, Gifford Joinery, Dino’s, Ian Wood Engineering and Rollo Developments”
The teenager from Gifford, East Lothian walks away from round two 16th position in the championship with 6.5 points.
